Here we go again. Jeff Sessions. Healthcare. Education. NBC giving airtime to hate speak. And Trump supposedly wants to fire Robert Mueller.
If you are looking for America's moral compass, please know it exists. We are carrying it and our actions lead others towards true north.
I feel a shift in our political climate. On Nov 9 we woke to the pain of America and the fear of this new administration, and today it feels as we are more awake and nurturing of the interconnected of all humans and our earth.
Today it feels like we are more open to each other. We are more open to listening. We are standing together in our diversity and our deeply aligned humanity. Today more woman are running for office than ever before. On Saturday I coached twenty-one woman candidates on public speaking for Emerge Washington. Twenty-one women from Western Washington who are running for public office. Two of them very pregnant. The shift is coming.
Yes, we are fighting daily to preserve our democracy. Yes, the news is overwhelming and the lack of integrity heart sickening. I am so angry as I feel so out of control with each decision coming from the GOP. And yet, through our perseverance, WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS.
The courts keep stopping Trump. Sleeping Giants (find them on Twitter) keeps shrinking Breitbart's profits by helping advertisers see the light (Amazon is still advertising on this fake news site). Goldman Sachs is standing up to NBC for giving air time to dangerous propagandist Alex Jones. And we keep showing up. Because we care. We care about our families, our neighbors, our community, our state, our country.
Our caring is why and how we will overthrow this administration. We will vote out the GOP who care more about Koch brother dollars than they do the citizens they represent.
We must keep the FAITH. We must RESIST the hate. Every action matters. Every phone call makes difference. Together we can.
We must FIGHT FOR LOVE OF COUNTRY, EACH OTHER AND OUR EARTH WITH ALL THE LOVE IN OUR HEARTS.
While silly little trump and the GOP continues to disregard all we hold sacred, our system of checks and balances and courageous people will continue to fight back.
We fight for all that is sacred. We fight for love. We fight for equality. We fight for healthcare. We fight for education. We fight for opportunity. We fight for clean air, rivers, land. We fight for all our brothers and sisters as we know if one of is suffering, we all are suffering.
The calls are easy to make. Activism is the only way through. We fight until there is nothing left to fight for.
TODAY'S EASY ACTIVISM
1. Call your Senators (click here for numbers) and tell them we must see the healthcare bill and know exactly what's in it before voting. Demand full transparency. This bill is happening behind closed doors and it could pass by July 4th.
This is very dangerous. Republicans are claiming there phones aren't ringing. Send to this to every Red State person you know. It's time to bombard them AGAIN. PLEASE TAKE THIS ACTION.
Demand they save the ACA.
2. Let NBC know that you DO NOT SUPPORT them promoting Alex Jones who has called Sandy Hook fake and said Hillary Clinton was running a child sex slave ring (this is not even the worst of him).
There was no reason for Megyn Kelly to interview him. Click here to send them a message (easy form to fill out - Sunday Night show with Megyn Kelly). Alex Jones does not deserve any airtime.
3. Call the Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and say you DO NOT SUPPORT shrinking Bear Ear National Monument. He is recommending this. (202) 208-3100. What a dick.
4. Go see Wonder Woman. Take every person you know. It's a great uplift.
